Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products division is seeking qualified professionals to consider for a Production Manager role to support the Retail paper manufacturing area at the Naheola mill located in Pennington, AL.

The Production Manager will be involved with increasing the effectiveness of the asset group by improving reliability, work processes, equipment performance and team member capabilities within the Tissue Mill segment. This position reports to the Converting Operations Manager.

Our Team

Georgia-Pacific's Naheola Mill located in Pennington, Alabama, is a manufacturing site for the company's well-known consumer products business. More than 900 employees produce a wide range of products for the consumer business, including Angel Soft bath tissue, Sparkle paper towels, as well as bleached paperboard used in Dixie paper cups and plates.

The mill is the largest employer in the community and is engaged in supporting community outreach, workforce development and education.

What You Will Do

1. Provide strategic and tactical leadership in the areas of Environmental, Health, and Safety.
2. Manage, Coach and Mentor Asset Operators to safely achieve quality production targets in an Ownership Based Work System.
3. Lead the effort to identify, investigate, recommend, and implement equipment, vital supply and raw material improvements, along with process changes that will improve quality of the finished product.
4. Lead efforts in reducing customer complaints.
5. Lead waste reduction initiatives to reduce all forms of waste within the area.
6. Manage all business aspects of the retail organization, including monthly operational costs, capital projects, compliance projects and production performance.
7. Execute financial spend forecast to meet or exceed plan.
8. Capture and develop opportunities for economic improvement.
9. Lead assigned projects to completion to provide targeted economic return.
10. Work as a team player to improve the overall results of the business unit.
11. Identify and address towel converting team skill performance gaps by collaborating with the Performance Development Leader for improvement strategies.
12. Lead/Improve Asset and Reliability Strategies.
13. Experience leading and working in a Team environment, at all levels of the organization.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

1. Bachelor's degree or five (5) or more years of experience working on high-speed paper machines or converting operations.
2. Three (3) years of experience leading and holding people accountable in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
3. Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

What Will Put You Ahead

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering.
2. Ten (10) or more years of experience working on high-speed paper machines or converting operations.
3. Experience initiating and/or executing capital projects.
4. Experience working in a pulp or paper operation.
5. Experience working in a union environment.
6. Experience with software tools such as PI Process Book, PTM (AA)/Suite, Asset Suite, Downtime Analysis Reports, and SAP.
