EMR is currently seeking an Industrial Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all electrical systems, ensuring that equipment is operating efficiently. If you have at least five years of industrial electrical experience, including knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and electrical schematics, and are able to work in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply!
As an Industrial Electrician, you will work both indoors and outdoors, handling a variety of electrical systems, from conveyor motors to control panels. You will be expected to work independently as well as collaborate with a team to ensure our electrical systems operate smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair motors, VFDs, PLCs, and other electrical components on conveyor systems.
  • Assist in the design, build, and installation of MCCs, control panels, and electrical components as specified by the engineering team or customers.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance on electrical systems and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and ensure compliance with electrical codes.
  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, switch boxes, receptacles, and other electrical components.
  • Test electrical equipment using tools such as digital multimeters, current clamps, and ammeters.
  • Perform other tasks as required by the maintenance team or management.

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues and provide solutions.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Expertise in working with HMI's, PLCs, VFDs, electrical schematics, and troubleshooting.
  • Deep knowledge of low voltage systems and various electrical components.
  • Familiarity with a variety of sensors, programming, and analog signals.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Work Environment:
  • This role involves both indoor and outdoor work environments. While the majority of tasks will be performed in controlled indoor settings, you may also be required to work outdoors, especially when dealing with equipment located outside or in less sheltered areas.
  • You will need to adapt to various environmental conditions, including exposure to weather when working outdoors, and ensure all tasks are completed safely in both settings.

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED-equivalent required.
  • Industrial Electrician certification or a combination of education and training is required.
  • Experience in metals recycling and separation is preferred but not required.
