This leader will target enterprise accounts and specific verticals through strategic and scalable field programs that fill the funnel and accelerate the sales cycle.The ideal candidate will bring a strong strategic mindset, operational excellence, and a proven track record of building and executing effective, data-driven field marketing plans. As a recognized leader, you’ll work cross-functionally with sales, account-based marketing (ABM), partner marketing, customer marketing, and demand generation teams to create engaging programs that align with sales priorities, accelerate deal velocity, and improve conversion to customers.As a dynamic leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, you will balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, bringing order to complexity while managing teams and resources to meet ambitious objectives. Throughout, you’ll experiment with new approaches, measure results rigorously, and share insights across the marketing organization. This role reports directly to the VP of Revenue Marketing, Americas within MongoDB's Marketing organization.Candidate ProfileOur ideal candidate for this role will have the following:Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)7+ years of field marketing and account management/marketing experience in enterprise software, B2B SaaS, or technology companiesProven team leadership skills with previous experience managing remote teams and a demonstrated ability to hire, coach, and mentor high-performing marketing professionalsExpertise in integrated marketing strategies, including ABM, demand generation, event marketing, and content marketingStrong proficiency with CRM and Marketing Automation systems (e.g., Salesforce, Eloqua, Jira, Terminus, or similar)Exceptional analytical skills and a history of data-driven decision-making, with proven experience measuring ROI and showing results for marketing programsExperience working cross-functionally with sales, customer success, demand generation, and product teams to design campaigns and drive outcomesExecutional excellence with a consistent ability to deliver on time, within budget, and aligned to organizational prioritiesExceptional written and verbal communication skills with a history of delivering compelling presentations to senior executives and stakeholdersA strategic thinker who can balance broader company priorities with tactical execution, while adapting to changing circumstances with agilityHigh energy, creativity, and a positive, can-do attitude with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneouslyFamiliarity with developer marketing (preferred)Ability to travel up to 30-50% to domestic markets when travel resumesPosition ExpectationsDevelop and lead AMER field marketing plans: Design and execute robust, scalable field marketing programs to support account-based strategies, pipeline acceleration, and revenue growth. Programs include regional in-person/virtual events, webinars, digital experimentation, content development, customer enablement, and strategic partnershipsPartner with cross-functional stakeholders:Collaborate with ABM, demand generation, partner marketing, and sales teams to build cohesive strategic plans that align with broader marketing objectivesServe as a trusted partner to AMER sales leadership by creating targeted initiatives that address regional challenges and sales prioritiesLead the AMER Field Marketing Team:Manage, mentor, and empower a team of marketing professionals to deliver business results and grow their careersProvide hiring input and develop onboarding plans to build a high-caliber marketing team that brings innovative ideas to marketFoster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and transparency across teamsDrive strategic initiatives: Develop strategies to support the adoption and expansion of MongoDB across key accounts and personas, from developers to the C-suite, within specific verticals or regionsLeverage data-driven insights: Use analytics and market research to identify opportunities, measure program effectiveness, and optimize activities for maximum ROIEnsure alignment across marketing programs: Partner with the ABM Center of Excellence (CoE) to create account-based marketing strategies that integrate with global field marketing plans and objectivesOversee flagship events and sponsorships: Work with the strategic events team on large-scale programs, including MongoDB.locals and AWS re:Invent, while ensuring proper alignment with regional initiativesCommunicate across the organization: Regularly share plans, performance metrics, and program results with cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadershipManage the AMER field marketing budget: Ensure spending aligns with goals and track performance against key business objectivesSuccess MeasuresThe Director of Field Marketing (AMER) will be successful in this role when they can execute the following strategic tasks/responsibilities:In 3 months:Build relationships with your team, manager, and cross-functional stakeholdersUnderstand AMER enterprise marketing goals and how to review success metrics effectivelyAnalyze regional campaign performance across the marketing funnel to identify areas for improvementIn 6 months:Develop and roll out clear objectives and actionable strategies for your teamRecommend new processes and scalable field marketing campaigns to support pipeline growthPosition yourself as a trusted partner to sales and marketing leadershipIn 12 months:Deliver strategic, scalable ABM programs that showcase measurable resultsRevamp processes, improve communications, and develop detailed documentation and reporting for all programsLeverage your insights to influence the future of programming and marketing strategies within the AMER regionEnsure outstanding ROI on field marketing initiatives that directly impact the company’s revenue growthTo drive the personal growth and business impact of our employees, we’re committed to developing a supportive and enriching culture for everyone. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package.
