Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Unit Manager at St. Mary's d'Youville Pavilion is responsible for managing the administration and clinical operations of a patient/resident care unit. They will be responsible for the supervision of all unit staff, including: nurses, nursing assistants, support staff and unit secretaries. They will plan, organize, coordinate, evaluate and control all human and material resources of the unit. He/She will be required to be able to provide direct patient care.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelors preferred
Valid State of Maine RN license required
BLS certification required
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years clinical experience required
Previous management experience
Acute, Long Term Care or Skilled care experience preferred
MDS and Care Planning knowledge preferred
Other Skills Required
Demonstrated leadership skills required
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required
Knowledge of special development and physical needs of adults and geriatric patients/residents
The ability to promote teamwork throughout the unit.
Organized and detail-oriented
