Administration:

  1. General clinic administrative work and maintenance
  2. Completing Lab paperwork under the dentist direction
  3. Update and maintain client’s dental records
  4. Take and process X-rays and scans of patients
  5. Review schedules and anticipate dentist needs in advance
  6. Provide well written accurate treatment plans to Patient Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  1. Attend morning meetings prepared to review your patients for the day: Pull history, what was done last appointment, what is being done the day of appointment.
  2. Ensure that all proper work has been completed prior to appointment – if not alert the front desk
  3. Turn on compressors and gas.
  4. Make sure all chairs are down and TVs and headphones are working
  5. Prior to patient appointment, review patient records to be properly prepared - Review if new X-rays, scans or preliminary impressions are needed. - Review if numbing will be necessary and if so prepare appropriate doctor
  6. Select and set up needed instruments, equipment and material
  7. Welcome patients by greeting them in the reception area by name
  8. Prepare patients for treatments and ensure their comfort
  9. Assist dentist through 4-handed dentistry
  10. Take all necessary records for appropriate procedure – review company checklist to ensure all work is complete
  11. Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  12. Keep the dental room clean and well stocked to include while patient is in the chair room should be kept clean
  13. Properly send off patients by walking them to front desk staff
  14. Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  15. Undertake lab tasks as instructed, ensuring that prescriptions are fully executed

Skills:

  1. Proven experience as a cosmetic dental assistant, 5+ years experience preferred
  2. Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  3. Understanding of health & safety regulations
  4. Excellent communication and people skills
  5. Attention to detail
  6. Well-organized and reliable
