Simple Laboratories is hiring: Mobile Phlebotomist Z1 in Chicago

Simple Laboratories is looking for a Mobile Phlebotomist that will serve an integral role in our phlebotomy team. This position allows our phlebotomist to travel to multiple facilities servicing mainly a geriatric population for routine, fasting, time-sensitive, and STAT draws and collection.

Full Time: Monday - Friday, 12pm-8pm with rotating weekends

Part Time: Evenings

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to assess geriatric patients. Perform venipunctures and other specimen collection according to policy and procedures.
• Completes required paperwork including requisitions and collection list.
• Ensures specimens obtained by the client are collected in proper containers and labeled appropriately with two patient identifiers.
• Processes and prepares specimens according to testing guidelines, including centrifuging, light protecting, freezing, etc.
• Completes and picks up specimens collected by the client, from the facilities in assigned route.
• Transports specimens to a designated drop location within the coverage area.
• Documents and communicates phlebotomy staff errors.
• Establishes standards and tracking service to ensure clients are satisfied.
• Collaborates with other departments to provide the best care possible.
• Notifies Supervisor of supply needs and issues in the field.
• Utilizes required proper protective equipment.
• Maintains a clean and healthy work environment.
• Consistent communication with dispatch operators (twenty-minute limit for responding to messages).
• Communicates delays, hard sticks, and rejections to the dispatch team.
• Notifies dispatch when draws need to be rescheduled.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Detail oriented.
• Completion of phlebotomy training program with proof of certification
• 1+ year of experience as a phlebotomist
• 1+ years of experience with geriatric population
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Clean driving record for the last 5 years
• Proof of current liability insurance
• Proficient in using a smartphone.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must possess a passion for safety and Customer Service
