The LIV team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our dynamic Diving program, catering to athletes aged 8-18 and our masters program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sports performance, injury prevention, and athlete development. They will work closely with our diving coaches to design and implement comprehensive strength and conditioning programs that enhance the performance of our athletes, ensuring they reach their highest potential. Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program Development: Design and implement strength and conditioning programs tailored to the needs of youth and masters diving athletes. Focus on enhancing performance, strength, agility, flexibility, and injury prevention.
  • Training Sessions: Conduct individual and group training sessions, providing expert guidance and instruction to ensure proper technique and maximize athletic performance.
  • Assessment and Monitoring: Evaluate athletes' physical condition and performance, track progress, and adjust training programs as necessary. Utilize testing and monitoring tools to assess strength, power, flexibility, and overall fitness levels.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with diving coaches, sports medicine staff, and other relevant personnel to integrate strength and conditioning programs with overall training and competition schedules. Participate in regular meetings to discuss athlete progress and program improvements.
  • Education and Motivation: Educate athletes on proper training techniques, nutrition, and recovery strategies. Foster a positive and motivating environment to encourage athletes' commitment and dedication to their training regimen.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all training activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations. Monitor the training environment to prevent and address any potential injuries.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate records of training sessions, athlete progress, and program developments. Prepare reports and provide updates to the Head Diving Coach and other stakeholders as required.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends, research, and best practices in strength and conditioning. Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and continuing education opportunities.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred but not required.
  • Current certification from a recognized organization such as the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in strength and conditioning, preferably with youth athletes and/or divers. Experience with a masters program is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the unique demands of diving and ability to design sport-specific training programs. Excellent communication, motivational, and organizational skills.
  • Passionate about sports and athlete development, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights and / or weekends.
  • Physical requirements may include: the ability to kneel, bend, reach, climb, stand for long durations of time and lift at least 20 pounds at a time.
