Insight Global is looking for a Tool and Die Engineer in the Elizabethtown, KY area! Below is more information of what we're looking for in a candidate along with the day-to-day responsibilities in the role:

Desired Skills & Experience:

Experience in at least one of the following stamping areas:

  • Die Processing, Progressive Dies
  • CAD Draw Development
  • Die Design Die Construction, and/or Tryout.

Proficient in reading stamping die designs, both manual and CAD

PFMEA proficiency required

Familiar with Patterns, NC Machining and Die Construction Practices

Lean Manufacturing experience

Plusses:

  • Experience in the use of Virtual verification tools such as Vis-Mock-Up, Smirt to check for die interference, automation clearance, Machining clearance, etc.
  • Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering degrees
  • Understanding of sheet metal FLD Reports and general sheet metal forming methods
  • AutoCAD or CATIA V5
  • Die Design experience for large automotive sheet metal panels.
  • 3D solid die design experience in one of the following CAD systems: I-DEAS, UniGraphics, Catia
  • experience Die Design & Construction standards (WDX).

Day-to-Day:

Insight Global is currently seeking a Tool & Die Engineer for a direct hire opportunity supporting the creation of the brand-new manufacturing plant in Glendale, KY. The ideal candidate will lead the development of stamping processes and progressive die strip layouts for new model parts, optimizing for cost and quality. They will act as a liaison for die part feasibility, strip layout development, die design, construction, tryout, and buyoff. Responsibilities include creating draw die CAD developments, construction release files, and PFMEA’s for new model stampings. The candidate will update die process information, participate in cost requests, and evaluate engineering proposals. They will provide engineering support for N/C, machining, construction, tryout, and buyoff of dies, and support stamping feasibility and die process engineering. Developing detailed 3D CAD models, designing draw, trim/pierce, and flange for current models, and checking vendor designs for compliance are also key tasks. Additionally, they will develop generic die architecture models, review customer feedback, and work with customers to improve process and die design deliverables. This is a full-time direct placement with opportunity for rapid advancement and career elevation.

 

***Compensation: 85k to 105k

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
