Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-oriented Hardware Store Sales Associate to join our team. As a Sales Associate, you will be the first point of contact for customers, assisting them with product selection, answering questions, and ensuring they have a positive shopping experience. If you have a passion for DIY projects, home improvement, and helping people, this could be the perfect job for you! 

Responsibilities 
  • Customer Service: Greet customers as they enter the store and assist them in finding the right products for their needs. Provide knowledgeable and friendly guidance on hardware and home improvement products.
  • Product Knowledge: Learn about the wide range of tools, materials, and products we carry. Be able to provide recommendations, answer questions, and demonstrate product features.
  • Sales Support: Assist in processing sales transactions at the register, including handling cash, credit card payments, and providing receipts. Upsell products and promote current sales or discounts when appropriate.
  • Stocking & Merchandising: Ensure shelves are fully stocked and products are organized. Set up and maintain product displays, ensuring they are clean, appealing, and properly labeled.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with receiving and stocking new shipments of products. Conduct inventory checks as needed to ensure the store has adequate stock levels.
  • Store Maintenance: Keep the store clean, organized, and safe for customers and employees. Help with general store upkeep, including sweeping, dusting, and arranging products on shelves.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with fellow team members and management to ensure the store runs smoothly. Support other associates during busy periods and assist in other departments when needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.
  • Knowledge: Basic knowledge of hardware products and tools is a plus, but not essential. A willingness to learn and develop product knowledge is key.
  • Customer Service Skills: Friendly, approachable, and attentive to customer needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-Oriented: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods, and perform tasks that involve bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
