Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the general ledger and month end closing process and also reviews and manages a team of senior and staff level accountants. The Accounting Manager should also be responsible for maintaining a partnership with operational departments throughout the company including facility level leadership, Operations, HR, etc. This individual will also help to manage any external audits, special projects, and ad hoc reporting requested by senior management. This position will also be responsible for AR valuation and revenue recognition.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees and manages company’s general ledger activity in accordance with GAAP
- Supervises, trains, and develops accounting and AP personnel
- Assists senior management with ad hoc financial data requests
- Manages and reviews various balance sheet reconciliations
- Reviews and posts journal entries related to month end close activities
- Prepares AR valuation and associated monthly journal entries for revenue recognition
- Reviews periodic variance analysis and reports notable activity to management
- Responsible and accountable for managing direct reports
- Assists management with completion of year end audit and tax return preparation
- Creates and supports a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment free work environment by understanding and complying with the company’s policies
- Other job duties, as assigned
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree (required) or higher in Accounting, other degrees may be considered with equivalent proven accounting experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in accounting required, prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
- CPA designation not required, but considered a strong plus
- Healthcare experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Quickbooks and NetSuite preferred
- System implementation experience a strong plus
