Bloomberg News is seeking an experienced journalist to spearhead weekend news coverage for the Americas from New York, Dallas or Los Angeles. You'll lead a small group of editors and reporters -- and a larger group of rotating staff -- delivering breaking news and exclusives across a variety of subjects of keen interest to our subscribers.
The team sets the newsroom agenda across platforms from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. Working with reporters and editors around the world, we write, edit and curate news stories, while collaborating closely with the digital team that produces Weekend Edition essays, dispatches and reviews.
The rapid news pace of our era doesn't take a break on weekends. Working a Thursday-to-Sunday schedule, you'll be able to demonstrate superior news judgment and have experience handling stories across Bloomberg's six pillars: Business, finance, markets, economics, technology and government. You'll be comfortable coordinating and publishing fast-breaking news, and not be afraid of leading from the front and doing everything it takes for Bloomberg News to succeed.

- Coordinate and help lead breaking news across teams and platforms
- React quickly to unexpected stories and help break news
- Promote the most important stories of the day on our mobile apps, TOPs, Bloomberg.com and social media
- Be a team player and embrace a no-special-people attitude
You need to have:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge and interest in markets, politics, companies and general interest news
- The ability to organize coverage and collaborate across platforms
- Experience editing stories, sending headlines and alerts to our core clients, and embracing social media
- The ability to evaluate the credibility of unidentified sources and handle sensitive stories
- Experience managing teams
- Innovative ideas on how best to inform our clients at the weekend.
Salary Range = 180000 - 230000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
