Title: Senior Director, Payroll Operations
Location: Hybrid within the Pacific Region

Description:
This role involves leading the operations of union payroll functions for a diverse workforce spanning multiple divisions, organizations, and regions. The Senior Director will oversee both strategic and day-to-day payroll activities while ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and legal regulations. The position emphasizes efficiency, compliance, and the development of a collaborative and innovative team environment, including the implementation of advanced payroll management systems.

Responsibilities:
Lead payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for union and freelance employees, adhering to company policies and regulations.
Manage union benefit contributions and employee deductions in compliance with agreements and regulatory requirements.
Maintain adherence to internal controls and compliance standards.
Oversee governance processes to align payroll systems with regulations and collective agreements.
Streamline and optimize payroll procedures for efficiency.
Collaborate with Finance, IT, HR, and other departments to meet evolving business needs.
Handle escalations and implement solutions to business challenges, providing post-issue insights to prevent recurrence.
Identify and mitigate payroll risks, enhancing controls to prevent errors and compliance issues.
Develop and maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for payroll processes.
Stay informed on payroll legislation and ensure compliance across operations.
Communicate payroll updates effectively to employees and business partners.

Required Skills:
10+ years of experience in payroll leadership for complex, multi-entity organizations.
5+ years of experience in union payroll within media or entertainment industries.
Familiarity with payroll processes for employees under collective bargaining agreements.
Expertise in cloud-based payroll systems and integration of employees from acquisitions.
Proficiency in tools like PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and project management platforms.
Strong knowledge of FLSA, wage and hour laws, and tax regulations.
Proven ability to develop efficient teams, policies, and processes with internal controls.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Desired Skills:
Experience interpreting collective bargaining agreements for payroll and benefits.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
Familiarity with advanced payroll systems like Workday.

Employment Type:
Full-Time

Compensation:
Pay range: $147k-$210k/year
