The Voice Systems Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain advanced voice infrastructure and next-generation technologies. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, customers, and network engineers to deliver secure, reliable, and mission-aligned solutions in an enterprise IT environment.

This individual will play a pivotal role in developing innovative and effective solutions for our DoD customers within the IC sector.
Role Overview
The Voice Systems Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain advanced voice infrastructure and next-generation technologies. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, customers, and network engineers to deliver secure, reliable, and mission-aligned solutions in an enterprise IT environment.
Primary Duties
- Design, test, and deploy new Voice infrastructure.
- Implement next-generation voice system technology (1st article voice engineering).
- Participate in the security accreditation process for all systems.
- Provide certificate management for all systems.
- Perform system upgrades and patching for hardware and software.
- Provide voice system engineering for new site standups.
- Deliver Tier 4 engineering support for all Voice systems.
- Design, test, and deploy call center technology, including user training and transition plans.
- Perform tasks related to call routing and trunking within assigned platforms.
- Participate in meetings with clients and internal departments to understand system requirements.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with standards, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with network engineering and other telecom engineers on integration activities involving telephony or call center technologies.
- Work with current secure communication devices, including VoIP phones, STEs, Viper, and infrastructure components (POTs/ISDN/Leased lines, PBXs, encryption devices, conference bridges, and call management servers).
- Provide hands-on support and expertise with Skype for Business, Avaya Communication Manager, and call center technology design.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related discipline (preferred).
- Hands-on experience with secure communications devices and voice infrastructure components.
- Expertise with Skype for Business, Avaya Communication Manager, and call center technologies.
- Strong understanding and experience with:
- SIP signaling and call flows
- Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP)
- SIP, MGCP, H.323
- TCP/IP, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, RTP
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in an enterprise IT environment with specific tasks related to voice technologies.
- Knowledge of call routing, trunking, and telephony integration.
- Familiarity with secure VoIP phones and related technologies.
- Exposure to the following platforms and tools:
- Skype for Business
- Avaya Communication Manager
- Call center technologies and best practices
Preferred certifications include, but are not limited to:
- MCSE Certification
- A+ Certification
- Network+ Certification
- Cisco Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCVP, CCDP
- Juniper Certifications
- ITIL Certification
- Additional certifications in HP, CATE, and R&S
