PACO Group, Inc. (PACO) is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the Design Standards Unit for the Port Authority (PA) facilities. The selected individual will be responsible for reviewing electrical design documents, including medium voltage systems (above 600 volts), for tenant projects (TAA), conducting design audits, and overseeing project processing to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and Port Authority technical standards. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical systems, including fire alarms, cathodic protection, and radio frequency technologies, as well as strong coordination with various technical disciplines. The Electrical Engineer will play a key role in ensuring project accuracy and regulatory compliance, while maintaining effective communication between PA facilities and in-house reviewers.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Design Standards Unit Manager and the Assistant Manager, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for review electrical design documents, including medium voltage (above 600 volts) for tenant projects (TAA) and design audit, and project processing for Port Authority (PA) facilities to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and Port Authority technical standards. Specific responsibilities include: downloading the electronic TAA submissions, previewing construction documents, electrical load and service calculations, specifications, and reports for completeness with codes and standards; coordinating the review comments from others technical disciplines and preparing memoranda for transmitting comments to the line departments; and attending meeting with tenant Architect/Engineer of Records to discuss the review comments and resolve the issues; assigning various technical disciplines for code review, and communicating with PA facilities to process TAA and design audit projects.

The potential candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Professional engineer's license in State of New York and/or New Jersey
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Minimum of five (7) years of diverse experience in building electrical codes and systems, including medium voltage (over 600 Volts), fire alarm, cathodic protection, and radio frequency.
- Proper understanding of electrical disciplines related to building design and construction of transportation and related facilities
- Strong and effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Comfortable acting as liaison between PA Tenants & Facilities and in-house application reviewers to ensure smooth workflow
- Comprehensive computer skills, proficient in MS Suite, and ability & interest to learn various in-house and external software (Share Point, eBuilder, etc.)
