OGC is a boutique research and consulting agency specializing in data-driven strategy, market research, quantitative analytics, Customer Experience (CX) program design and optimization. We work with some of the world's largest organizations across a variety of industries, including Telecommunications, Financial Services, Specialty Retail, Hospitality and Software, helping them gain a deeper understanding of their customers, develop actionable insights, and improve business processes.

OGC is seeking a Director of Business Development to complement our team of practice leads and subject matter experts. These team members already drive existing client relationships and business growth, but we require a dedicated sales professional with subject matter credibility to focus on generating new business opportunities. This is a "hunter" role, focused on the identification, cultivation, and closure of new leads, while our current practice leads continue to manage and grow existing accounts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing a strategic, consultative sales process aimed at driving both short- and long-term revenue growth. You will work closely with prospective clients to assess their unique needs, identify opportunities for tailored solutions, and deliver value that supports their business objectives.

This is a full-time, US based, remote position working East Coast hours.

Core Responsibilities & Tasks:
  • Lead Generation, Client Engagement & Relationship Building: Lead the sales process from prospecting through to contract negotiation, ensuring each stage is aligned with OGC's high standards of service. Cultivate long-term partnerships with senior-level decision-makers, developing a deep understanding of their business challenges and helping them solve complex problems.
  • Consultative Sales Process: Bring your expertise in consumer behavior, market trends, and business strategy to propose tailored solutions that address client needs. Use a consultative approach to guide clients in achieving their goals, whether through custom engagements or OGC's suite of innovative solutions.
  • Revenue Growth & Target Achievement: Consistently meet and exceed annual revenue targets by securing six-figure-dollar deals with new clients and expanding existing accounts. Identify and pursue high-potential opportunities across diverse industries.
  • Stakeholder Management & Negotiation: Engage with clients, procurement teams, and legal departments to ensure smooth negotiations and the successful closure of contracts. Build trust with internal teams to ensure a seamless transition from sales to service delivery.
  • Sales Ownership, Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with colleagues across OGC to own, project manage, and deliver strategic proposals, leveraging the expertise of the team.
  • Sales Hygiene & Administration: Regular updates to Hubspot, forecasting processes and reporting.

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, preferably in a consulting, marketing, or research-driven environment.
  • Proven success in generating 6-figure-dollar engagements, particularly with new clients or new business segments.
  • Strong knowledge of consultative selling, stakeholder management, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with senior executives, procurement teams, and legal partners.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to the growth of a dynamic, high-performing team.
