The National Security Sector within Leidos is seeking an Oracle PostgreSQL Aurora Database Administrator with strong experience in development and database migrations to support the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). PSPD supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP critical missions, specifically screening and processing travelers at the ports of entry (POEs) into the United States. The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of Oracle and Postgres databases as well as expertise in designing implementing and managing robust database systems. This role requires proficiency in database migration strategies, performance tuning and problem solving in high demand environments.

**This position REQUIRES onsite support in Ashburn, VA, 2 times a month**

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and maintain database solutions in Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • Plan and execute database migrations from Oracle to PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity and minimum down time
  • Develop stored procedures, functions, triggers to meet application requirements
  • Analyze existing Oracle structures, stored procedures, and application code for migration to Postgres
  • Convert Oracle PL/SQL scripts, triggers, packages etc. to Postgres PL/PGSQL equivalents
  • Experience with tools like AWS DMS, SCT and CDC process
  • Validate functions, procedures converted correctly to Postgres and behaves as expected by writing test cases and using unit testing frame works
  • Trouble shoot and resolve database issues in development, testing and production environments. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database design, migration, processes and administration tasks.

Basic Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience or 6+ years of relevant experience with Masters Degree; OR 4 years of directly related experience in lieu of degree
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to maintain and obtain a CBP Background Investigation prior to start
  • 8 years expertise in Oracle Database and PostgreSQL development and administration.
  • Proven experience in database migrations (data and PL/SQL code) from Oracle to PostgreSQL
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL and PL/PGSQL
  • Hands on experience with Postgres tools PGADMIN, PSQL, QPM and other important Postgres extensions
  • Knowledge of database tuning, indexing strategies and query optimization
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud database solutions (AWS, Aurora etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Oracle/AWS
  • Knowledge of application development languages like python and Shell scripting
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Top Secret or Full CBP Background Investigation

Pay Range: Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
