Position Summary
The Vice President of Human Resources will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that support AV's rapid growth, culture, and operational excellence. Reporting to the COO, the VP of HR will lead efforts in talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement, DEI initiatives, and organizational development. This role will also oversee compliance with employment laws and foster a high-performing, inclusive workplace that reflects AV's entrepreneurial and innovative ethos.
This position is hybrid 4 days a week in our Manchester Corporate Office.

Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement an overarching HR strategy that supports AV's growth, scalability, and evolving business needs.
- Partner with senior leadership to align HR goals with the company's strategic objectives, ensuring the workforce is optimized to achieve business success.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the COO, CEO, and executive team on all people-related matters.
- Working with the COO, design and build out the HR team to facilitate completion of HR functions and working collaboratively across teams.
Talent Acquisition & Retention
- Lead efforts to attract, recruit, and retain top talent, particularly in niche areas like venture capital, finance, and technology.
- Oversee onboarding processes to ensure seamless integration of new hires into AV's culture and operations, as well as maintaining appropriate offboarding procedures.
- Drive initiatives to increase employee retention and professional development.
- Oversee AV's Venture Fellows program and develop and implement initiatives for paid and unpaid interns and seasonal help by establishing and fostering engagement with local (eg, NH/MA) colleges and universities.
Performance Management & Organizational Development
- Design and implement performance management systems, ensuring that goals, feedback, and growth opportunities align with AV's business priorities, including building out career progression frameworks and compensation ranges for each corporate department
- Identify and address workforce development needs, creating training programs and career pathing opportunities for employees.
- Oversee succession planning to ensure leadership continuity.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture throughout AV's offices nationwide that reflects AV's values of innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit, and achieves it's 4-days per week in office policy.
- Measure and enhance employee engagement through regular surveys and actionable follow-up initiatives.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to build a diverse workforce that reflects AV's global mission.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Oversee employee relations matters, mitigating risk and fostering resolution of workplace concerns.
- Maintain competitive compensation structures and benefits programs that support employee well-being and organizational goals.
HR Operations & Systems
- Oversee HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS systems, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Leverage HR data and analytics to inform decision-making and provide insights to leadership.
- Manage the HR budget and vendor relationships.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a senior HR role (e.g., VP, Director).
- Proven experience in high-growth organizations, ideally in venture capital, financial services, or technology.
- Expertise in talent acquisition, performance management, DEI, and organizational development.

- Deep understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong leadership and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and data-driven decision-making.
