Job Summary:
SEGA of America is seeking an Associate Manager, Product Coordination who will manage our exciting titles through various stages of the company's internal greenlighting process known as "Inline." You will play a critical role within the business by overseeing multiple projects from its initiation stage to launch, bringing multiple stakeholders across the business into alignment (Production, Publishing, Corporate Planning, overseas counterparts in Japan and in UK, etc.), & ensuring each project is ready for budget approvals. This role will report to the Manager, Product Coordination.

Job Summary:
SEGA of America is seeking an Associate Manager, Product Coordination who will manage our exciting titles through various stages of the company's internal greenlighting process known as "Inline." You will play a critical role within the business by overseeing multiple projects from its initiation stage to launch, bringing multiple stakeholders across the business into alignment (Production, Publishing, Corporate Planning, overseas counterparts in Japan and in UK, etc.), & ensuring each project is ready for budget approvals. This role will report to the Manager, Product Coordination.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Day-to-Day
- Track & manage the Inline schedule and release date for assigned projects using internal trackers & tools
- Coordinate with colleagues to prepare effective presentation decks for projects' budget approvals.
- Check deliverables to ensure relevant information is accurate and in order
- Secure Inline meetings in coordination with local executive assistants and our counterparts in Japan & Europe.
- Facilitate Inline meetings & compose meeting minutes
- Organize project folders & files on the company SharePoint site
- Attend regular alignment meetings with colleagues at SOA & other SEGA branches to track project status & coordinate Inline items, Compose & send weekly newsletters regarding recent Inline activities
- Commute to work in the Irvine office on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday each week.
- Strategy Support
- Attend occasional business trips to our international offices in Japan & Europe for cross regional process alignment.
- Stay informed on company's initiatives & industry trends to ensure relevant information is presented & discussed for Inline approvals
- Report on operational performance & suggest improvements within our approval process & internal workflows where there is an opportunity
- Working in-office is an essential function of this position. This requirement of face-to-face interaction is in place to ensure effective supervision, collaboration, and teamwork. In-office attendance is required for the following reasons:
- For effective supervision of employees and our work product, which includes ensuring all employees have necessary oversight of their work and access to supervisory assistance, which includes meetings to review work product, deadlines, and status.
- To foster communication and collaboration among team members, which includes the following: allowing for spontaneous brainstorming sessions and exchanges of ideas, quick access to team members to enable collaborative problem-solving, and stronger cohesion among co-workers and within teams.
- To enhance the sharing of information necessary to effective job performance and product creation.
- To enhance understanding of our stakeholders' work and business needs, facilitate a more seamless and organic workflow, and ultimately increase efficiency and successful outcomes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bilingual Japanese/English (Professional working proficiency or above)
- 3+ years of experience in project management or related cross functional role within gaming, entertainment, or consumer products.
- Proven ability to manage procedure and process
- Strong interest in video games and a knowledge of the entertainment industry
- Ability to plan and carry out work when regularly unsupervised
- Confident and professional in dealing with senior members of the company
- Excellent ability in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
- Clear and concise communication ability both written and verbal
- Flexibility to react quickly, reschedule, and prioritize workload as necessary
- Confidence in assessing situations and identifying reasonable courses of action
- Attention to detail combined with an ability to multitask
- Capable of bringing a variety of parties and information into alignment
- Passion for Japanese culture, JRPG games, and Anime
- Knowledge & interest in SEGA &/or ATLUS games
- Experience working in a Japanese corporate setting & knowledge of Japanese culture
- Familiarity with game development lifecycle & workflows, marketing strategies, forecasting methodologies, or consumer research methodologies
- PMP certification, PMO experience, or equivalent education/experience
- Experience customizing & optimizing SharePoint sites
