Merchant & Gould, one of the nation's premier intellectual property law firms, is seeking an Executive Assistant. This position will be located in downtown Minneapolis, MN. The salary range for this position is based on experience, $50,000-$70,000.


Reporting directly to the CFO/COO, the primary role of the Executive Assistant is to support the administrative tasks for various Executive Team initiatives and projects.


The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgement in a myriad of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and maintain a balance among multiple priorities. The Executive Assistant must have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.


Executive Team Responsibilities:

  • Handle sensitive interactions with discretion
  • Manage an active calendar of appointments
  • Coordinate meeting agendas; compile and distribute documents for meetings
  • Ensure meeting minutes are documented and electronically filed appropriately
  • Compose, prepare and file confidential correspondence
  • Timely processing of business expenses and invoices
  • Engage in internal and external email and phone communications as needed
  • Assume various legal administrative tasks and projects as identified by the Executive Team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, or a related field, preferred
  • 3+ Years of experience working directly for executive-level, preferred
  • Detail-oriented, superior organization and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple and shifting priorities with ease
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of people
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and separation of information and duties when supporting multiple executives
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate needs
  • Highly collaborative and resourceful individual, while also able to work independently to achieve goals
  • Project management experience; managing deadlines and supporting tasks/projects as needed to bring them to completion.
  • Strong sense of integrity
  • This is a hybrid position which will require in-office work at times
  • Regular attendance at work
