Job Overview:

Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Department, the Environmental Service Worker cleans and supplies patient rooms, nursing stations, ancillary areas, and other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with the Medical Center objectives.

Qualifications:

Required:

1. Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
2. Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Preferred:

1. GED or High School Diploma
2. Prior hospital housekeeping experience

Scheduling Requirements:

1. Shift: Night
2. Time: 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
3. Status: Full-Time 40.00 hrs.
4. This position may require holiday and weekend work.

Essential Functions:

1. Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs
2. Assists in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request
3. Cleans housekeeping closet and maintains par levels
4. Collects and transports all waste, including RMW, according to policy
5. Compacts Trash or places in containers
6. Damp buffs and shampoo carpets with approved equipment
7. Dry and wet mops floors of rooms and offices
8. Dust mops and wet mops, corridors, stairwells and other common areas
9. Empties waste receptacles and removes trash
10. Maintains assigned equipment for cleanliness and has repairs made when needed
11. Observes and reports the need to repair equipment, furniture, buildings and fixtures
12. Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods
13. Performs patient discharge cleaning using 9-step cleaning procedure
14. Refills paper towels, toilet paper, soap and toilet seat dispensers
15. Returns promptly from errands, breaks, meals
16. Scrubs and burnishes floors with approved equipment
17. Transport bulk trash from designated collection points to the compactor area
18. Uses and prepares solutions according to procedure
19. Vacuums carpets

Pay Range: $17.00 to $18.00 Hourly Rate
