The Maritime System Solutions Portfolio within the Maritime Systems Division (MSD) is seeking an experienced, dynamic, technical, and customer focused Deputy Program Manager to join the Leidos team in San Diego, CA or Lynnwood, WA to support a multidisciplined team in the execution of a US Navy contract. The scope of the business activities within this contract includes: underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, supporting information technology & engineering services for complex maritime applications, development and support of subsea data acquisition systems, and other complex subsea maritime activities.
The Deputy Program Manager will be responsible for supporting the Program Manager in the leadership, execution, development, growth, technical excellence, and demonstration of the program. Position will require Deputy Program Manager to report daily into an office, closely coordinate with the Program Manager and other DPMs, coordinate across a geographically distributed team, and periodic travel to support customer needs. Upward mobility options are significant with this position as the program expands.
MSD is an industry leader in developing, applying, and advancing the state-of-the-art signal processing technologies for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems including distributed netted sensor systems, communications systems, positioning systems, tactical decision systems, and autonomous unmanned platforms. Primary Responsibilities
- Provides joint leadership and responsibility for a program with complex ocean hardware/software systems within a customer focused environment.
- Fulfill customer requirements with technical, innovative, cost-effective, and reliable solutions that appropriately leverage advanced technologies and are suitable in support of U.S. Navy programs.
- Provide subcontractor and supplier direction and oversight.
- Collaborate with Program Manager, DPMs, and Leads to support daily activities, identify gaps and holes in programs, financial reporting, CDRL development, procurements, solutioning with engineers and customers, and long-term planning.
- Collaborate with Program Manager, Portfolio Manager, and other leads to support business development activities.
- Report daily to worksite location in Lynnwood, WA or San Diego, CA.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or similar technical discipline.
- 20+ years' total experience, with at least 15 years of Program management experience.
- Strong customer focus, ability to support team leadership, and establish strong, collaborative working relationships with government customers, technical staff, senior managers, and peers.
- Strong problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Contribute to the successful capture of competitive US DoD contracts.

Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification
- Experience managing program execution in a CMMI Level 3 or above environment and/or in accordance with ISO-9001 certified processes
- Experience managing Programs of Record for the DoD with EVMS requirements
