Responsibilities
As a UX Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our products. You will work closely with product owners, and software engineers to create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces. Your expertise in front-end design will drive the implementation of effective and aesthetically pleasing user interfaces. Responsibilities: Collaborate with product owners and business teams to understand user needs and translate them into design requirements.
Develop and implement front-end interfaces and high-fidelity prototypes with a focus on usability, accessibility, and responsiveness. Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability while ensuring user-centric design principles. Conduct user testing and gather feedback to refine and improve the user experience. Stay updated with emerging trends in UX design and front-end technologies. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to user interface design. Work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality user experience. Document and maintain design standards.
Qualifications
Required Minimum Education & Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related. Essential Experience: Minimum of 4 years of professional experience, showcasing expertise and previous work in UX design and graphics design for both web and mobile platforms. Fluent in design and prototyping tools like Sketch or Figma. A strong background in optimizing user interfaces for performance, accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-platform compatibility, including mobile environments, is essential.
Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the requirements listed above that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions of the job. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Arts, Graphic Design, or related field. Proven experience as a Designer, UX Engineer, Front-End Developer, or similar role. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge Solid understanding of UX design principles, including user-centered design, usability testing, and responsive design. Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and UI/UX designs. Interactive Design and Prototyping. Proficient in tools like InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or InVision, Android/IOS emulator, React Native, Kotlin, Swift, Flutter. Experience in ensuring compatibility across different browsers and devices, understanding the nuances of web standards and accessibility guidelines. Experience working in Agile development environments, understanding of Scrum principles, and ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. Experience with testing frameworks and tools, understanding of debugging practices, and ability to troubleshoot UI issues. Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders. Skills Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Must be an analytical mind, critical thinker, and problem solver. Detail-oriented with strong organization and time management skills. Attention to detail and organizational skills. Cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive manner with both individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds. Abilities Ability to design products in collaboration to customer needs/requirements. Ability to interact with customers one to one or in large groups. Ability to work independently with remote supervision. Ability to build in receiving feedback as part of the development process, seek consistent and constructive feedback. Ability to embrace accountability and ownership. For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the salary for this role is $127,000 a year. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
