An organization is seeking a

President | CEO

who will be responsible for leading the vision and executing it as a

Hospitality Enthusiast

for the industry by making a positive impact, while redefining how the hospitality industry engages with the community. The organization is on a quest to continue the growth of a strong organization that enhances the quality of the hospitality and travel & tourism industry. The President/CEO will oversee the strategic and operational efficiencies of our programs. This seasoned leader will not only understand current trends in the hospitality industry but will also have experience in developing and implementing a successful blueprint. Experience managing established relationships with state and local government & community groups is necessary. The President/CEO should be highly effective in a leadership role that requires clear communication skills and decisiveness as well as excellent presentation skills. The ideal candidate will possess: Leadership Acumen, Problem-Solving Prowess, be a Strategic Visionary and a Growth Catalyst. Overview of Responsibilities Create business & marketing plans for achieving goals and objectives set in collaboration with the board of directors to assess and address issues affecting the association. Advocate at the local, state, and national levels to protect the hotel industry from business threats of all kinds. Set and meet and/or exceed annual financial goals, in partnership with the board of directors, by securing memberships from industry organizations, financial support from corporate sponsors, and governmental funding sources. Maintain excellent relationships with agencies, commissions, and associations at the state and local government levels to gain favorable decisions and legislation on behalf of GMBHA members. Conduct regular visits to the member hotels as well as allied member locations to foster relationships. Serve on various boards and committees of affiliated organizations to obtain and maintain effective representation for all GMBHA members. Maintain relationships with charities that GMBHA supports to include community and social responsibility efforts. Collaborate with staff and board on annual fundraising industry events and oversee all external communications, including website, marketing collateral, newsletters, and social media. Oversee and manage the operating budgets as well as P&L reports for the association in conjunction with the accountant and Board of Directors. Organize and execute major industry events i.e., Inn Key Awards and Hospitality Leadership Awards. Maintain communication with members via association newsletter as well as hosting industry panels, and other informational and networking events. Increase awareness of the organization and advocate on its behalf by being the main spokesperson and liaison with local media. Serve as the face of the organization and participate in external events to increase visibility, credibility, and market brand, and develop strategic partnerships to further increase community awareness and expand programs. Build and lead an effective team of staff and volunteers that is dedicated to fulfilling the organization’s mission through extraordinarily successful programs for both hotels and allied members to increase engagement. Required Skills and Qualifications Sales & Marketing Abilities Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal. Excellent public speaking abilities Able to manage operational budgets. Association Management/Leadership Experience Adept in Government Relations Knowledge of the market’s specific hotel ownership issues, including zoning, real estate taxes, and construction codes. Firsthand experience with hotel strategy, business models, and operations Expertise in managing hotel-related crisis management (natural disasters, terrorism threats, labor strikes) Capable of leading advocacy efforts to protect the hotel industry from business threats of all kinds. Proficient in managing financial, technical, and economic concepts and reporting. Leadership and management experience in principles for nonprofit organizations Proven success working with a board of directors. Entrepreneurial mindset, with innovative approach to business planning Dynamic and charismatic collaborator who enjoys being the public face of an organization. Understanding of the market’s multicultural and diverse tapestry Proven experience in business management and strategic planning at a senior leadership level. Demonstrated expertise in financial management and business development. Requirements Must reside in Miami-Dade County Seven or more years of experience in an executive level position, preferably with the hospitality industry Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) in business, hospitality, and/or sales & marketing. Working knowledge of Microsoft Programs and technically up to date on use of software. Social Media Savvy Able to travel if needed, work nights and weekends based on association events. Additional language skills a plus Salary and Benefits Salary negotiable based on experience Medical Benefits Travel Expenses Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: From $110,000.00 per year Benefits: Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Weekends as needed Experience: Hospitality: 5 years (Preferred) Location: Miami, FL (Required)
