Sr Director, Derivatives Strategy and Trading

The Derivatives Strategies & Trading Senior Director will be responsible for structuring and execution of hedging and yield enhancement strategies across asset classes for internal and institutional clients. They will problem solve, advise and work closely with Nuveen public market portfolio managers, private market investment officers, as well as the TIAA General Account’s CIO office. The Senior Director will also be responsible for assisting the head of derivatives in broadening the desk’s client base and commercializing the desk’s derivatives trading and structuring capabilities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Assist the head of the Derivatives Desk with all aspects of the business, from operational processes, audit/compliance to structuring and trading of FX and derivatives products
Products traded will include interest rate swaps, cross currency swaps, inflation swaps, interest rate and FX options, structured credit (e.g., CDX tranches), and FX swaps
Will work closely with and support the Nuveen Global Fixed Income investment team as well as the private side of the business, including Private Placements, Real Estate, Real Assets, and the TIAA General Account
Develop a clear understanding of all hedging related activity across Nuveen's business and including the roles, responsibilities and workflows of internal business teams and external service providers
Liaise with portfolio management and distribution to communicate how hedges / derivatives are performing
Drive derivatives related strategy work in partnership with NEFI Investor Relations with a focus on creation of operationally sustainable recommendations that align with desired business outcomes
Lead administration and development of framework, socialization, and overall process around evaluating new derivatives opportunities
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Required
Work Experience
3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
CFA preferred

$131,300/yr. - $190,000/yr. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.

$131,300/yr. - $190,000/yr.
