Job Summary:
The JHF Director of Development will work with the Executive Director, Development JHF on the Foundation's annual giving programs and membership groups. This position will have direct fundraising responsibilities tied to the activation and renewal of donor membership and service line fundraising.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and manage a portfolio of 100 to 150 donors with a significant goal of securing gifts of $5,000 and over and create successful cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for both restricted and unrestricted gifts.
Manage one of the Foundation's donor membership groups, increase membership with new donors, cultivate existing members for new gifts and move them into the higher levels of giving.
Work with donor volunteer lead committees to ensure successful outcomes of events and/or fundraising campaigns.
Become an ambassador of Jackson Health Foundation in community organizations such as chambers and networking professional groups.
Collaborate with colleagues including marketing, operations and other development staff to develop donor-centered strategic plans that result in optimal philanthropic support.
Liaise on a regular basis with assigned service lines to identify funding priorities and programmatic developments relevant to fundraising efforts.
Work hand-in-hand with Senior Director of Annual Giving and Development to achieve annual giving goals including but not limited to employee giving, third-party activities and grassroots initiatives.
Conduct timely and effective follow-up to identification, solicitation and cultivation efforts through multiple communication channels.
Adhere diligently to the Foundation's moves management and reporting process on the cultivation and solicitation of donors, ensuring proper documentation of their progress.
Effectively engage prospective donors and raise funds for the priority projects of Jackson Health System.
Ensure continued engagement with assigned current donors and increased support for the Foundation; working with medical staff, identify and cultivate new donors from grateful patients.
Assess the capacity of donors and prospective donors in order to secure cash gifts, pledges and where possible planned gifts and budgetary relief in-kind donations.
Be a good colleague and contribute to the successful cultivation of the best gift for the donor and for the Foundation, working cooperatively with all development officers on the staff.
Perform other duties and related functions as required.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
Generally requires minimum 5 years of fundraising and demonstrated experience in soliciting gifts. Work in a hospital and/or academic medical center setting a plus.
Education:
Bachelor's degree is required.
