Director of Engineering (hybrid)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: As a Director of Engineering at Tandigm Health, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, customization, and implementation of robust and scalable data and application products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, create architecture solutions, technical specifications, and implement solutions that meet both functional and technical objectives. Essential Functions Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Prioritize and deliver development projects on time, meeting internal and external customer requirements including cost, quality, and reliability targets. Work closely with product management, design, and operations teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives and customer needs. Drive innovation and technological advancements within the engineering department. Take a hands-on approach to understanding technical and design when necessary. Drive adherence to defined engineering processes and best practices while overseeing opportunities to improve processes for gains in efficiency and effectiveness. Conduct code reviews, performance optimizations and ensure adherence to best coding practices and standards. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in development and technology and provide recommendations for adoption. Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the engineering team and across the organization. Attract, recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing onshore/offshore team. Be customer-service oriented; responsive and respectful to colleagues, clients, patients, and providers. Perform additional duties as assigned. Exhibit behavior and communication skills that demonstrate Tandigm Health’s commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care, and concern with each and every internal and external customer. Use, protect, and disclose Tandigm’s patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards and protect Tandigm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference. Adhere to and be responsible for abiding by all information security policies, processes, and/or activities. Report security events or potential events or other security risks to the organization to management. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in development, with a minimum of 4 years in a technical leadership role. Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing engineering teams including onshore/offshore. Deep technical expertise in development methodologies, processes, and automation frameworks. Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and/or hybrid cloud environments; preferably in Microsoft Azure. Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices for building scalable and maintainable applications. Deep understanding of data engineering concepts, including data lake, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing. Proficiency in a wide range of programming languages and technologies, such as: Front-end: JavaScript (React, Angular, or Vue), HTML, CSS/SASS. Back-end: Node.js, Python, C#, Java, or similar. Databases: SQL (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake) Cloud Services: Experience with Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform. Data visualization: (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) Proven leadership abilities in guiding and mentoring team members, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
