Responsibilities
The EHS Specialist will ensure compliance with relevant HSE laws, regulations, and company policies. Develop, review, and update HSE policies and procedures specific to chemical manufacturing operations. Conduct hazard assessments and risk analyses to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety and environmental risks. Develop and monitor emergency response and preparedness plans, including spill control, fire safety, and chemical release scenarios. Conduct regular safety training sessions and drills for plant personnel on HSE protocols. Promote HSE awareness through campaigns, workshops, and ongoing communication. Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Perform regular site inspections to identify unsafe conditions, potential hazards, and environmental risks. Work closely with operations, maintenance, and other departments to integrate HSE considerations into daily activities and projects. Act as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and participate in HSE-related external audits. Requirements
The EHS Specialist will have a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in a chemical or industrial manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, etc.). Familiarity with risk assessment tools, chemical safety management, and emergency response protocols. Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, ASP, CHMM) are preferred but not required. Proficiency in HSE software tools and reporting systems. Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
