$75,338.80/year - $113,008.20/year, Exempt, Dependent on experience Position Summary

The Compliance Officer performs functions essential to ensuring risk and compliance requirements as set forth by the State, NCUA, and other regulatory agencies. Responsible for the development and implementation of Credit Union policies and procedures to ensure compliance with related laws and regulations. Recommends policy changes that will facilitate the Credit Union’s compliance program, reduce risk, and reflect changes in regulation. Updates and disseminates information regarding laws and regulations to management and team members as appropriate. Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, implement and administer a compliance program that effectively addresses the requirements of applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Security Program. Collaborate with appropriate departments to ensure the Credit Union is compliant, including but not limited to the operational activities within the branch; Ensure team members have the knowledge and resources that enable them to comply with applicable regulations and have satisfactory audits. Follow up with any necessary audit findings and recommendations to ensure adherence to laws and regulations. Interpret and communicate information on regulatory matters and make appropriate recommendations to management. Identify and communicate deficiencies or issues related to compliance and provide guidance in the development of alternative solutions. Perform various quality control reviews and monitoring of Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC and Customer Identification Program compliance. Make recommendations for the Credit Union’s written BSA compliance program for approval of the Board of Directors. Conduct investigations to identify fraud and suspicion of fraud for card disputes, new and existing accounts, returned deposits, counterfeit items, and team member/insider fraud. Establish and maintain trust and cooperation with public, private, and law enforcement agencies charged with prevention, detection, and prosecution of fraud. Review report, record and monitor performance mechanisms informing management of operational activities. Provide timely, accurate and complete reports and communicate findings with appropriate departments/managers, including but not limited to BSA reports and SARs. Comply with all BSA/AML regulations, forms and procedures. Assist with the Credit Union’s Vendor Management Program and helps ensure vendor due diligence, oversight and risk assessments are being completed for new and existing vendors based on risk. Perform other duties as assigned. Education/Experience Requirements

Associates degree preferred BSA Certification preferred Minimum five years’ experience in regulatory compliance, risk, or internal audit for a financial institution including an emphasis on regulatory compliance, project management, customer service, branch operations. Knowledge/Skills

Knowledge of compliance concepts and practices pertaining to state and federal financial and consumer protection regulations. Background in regulatory compliance is required. Ability to communicate (oral and written) and work well with others in a dynamic team environment. Good foundation in member service and operational processes. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within the department and with business unit owners. Strong problem-solving, credit union operations, and organizational skills with the ability to present information logically. Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines with supervision. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures, loan and account documents, and governmental regulations. Demonstrated ability to think critically and analyze and communicate information to team and manager. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Adobe Acrobat Pro and SharePoint. Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required. Work in an office environment requiring the use of office equipment, such as personal computers, printers, scanners and copy/fax machines. Occasionally work long hours to meet credit union’s needs, keep up with fluctuating volume and meet established goals and targets.
