Member Services Associate - Central YMCA (Morning Shift & Evening Shift)

Under the direction of the Director of Membership and/or the Membership Coordinator, the Member Services Associate is responsible for delivering a high-value experience for our members, volunteers and guests. His/her responsibilities include but are not limited to being the "point of contact" person and greeting members, controlling access to the facility, answering a multi-line phone, taking accurate messages, selling memberships, processing program registrations and providing excellent customer service at all times. The Member Services Associate will perform various clerical duties while assisting participants and maintaining member service control. The successful employee will model the behavioral values established by the Association and will have a passion and enthusiasm for the mission of the Y. This position entails morning and daytime shifts totaling approximately 20 hours per week. Hourly rate is $11.00-12.00. Essential Functions/Responsibilities: Provide excellent member service through interactions that ensure the Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA Quality Initiatives are met Communicate effectively and politely with others, portraying excellent listening and interpersonal skills Provide exceptional customer service by giving accurate information about branch activities and programs to members and participants Correctly register/sell and accept payments from participants for programs and memberships Ensure that all accounting and related procedures are followed for cash, reporting, and merchandise sales Accurately complete data entry for close outs and deposits Responsible for opening, closing and securing the branch Make decisions regarding routine problems where precedents have been established Maintain confidentiality in regards to financial aid documents, member's bank draft information, etc Apply and comply with all YMCA policies and procedures and exemplify the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith Preferred Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age; high school diploma or GED required At least 1 year of experience in a customer service, sales or office environment preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills required Excellent telephone etiquette (answer professionally and promptly) required Must have the ability to handle monetary transactions accurately and properly Possess skills in managing multiple priorities, organization, attention to detail, and customer relations Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve results Ability to quickly become proficient in Daxko, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer programs necessary to perform the duties of the job Must be able to work effectively with a diversity of people, different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and all ages. Interacts regularly with members, volunteers, staff and other community leaders. Must have and maintain current CPR Pro/AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, Child Abuse Prevention, Blood borne Pathogens training, hazard communication, slips, trips, and falls training, new hire orientation and any other trainings required Job Posted by ApplicantPro
