Job Description
HIM Coding Solution Architect to support the Department of Defense Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) Program, a highly visible CompetitiveB single award IDIQ vehicle that provides support to the Defense Health Agency. The DHMSM program is the DoD's leading program designed to deploy a modern electronic health record (EHR) system across the United States and around the globe. Leidos, with core partners Cerner, Accenture, and Henry Schein, will support the DHMS Program Executive Office (PEO) and the Defense Health Agency in the global deployment of our EHR that will deliver improved system capability to the DoD whenever and wherever healthcare is required. The DHMSM system will provide important health IT capabilities to 9.6 million active military, their families, and their beneficiaries.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participate in the development and implementation of innovative solutions for optimizing Health Information Management (HIM) and coding processes within the DoD enterprise.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and manage the product roadmap for HIM/coding solutions, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
Develop product initiatives that align with project performance, value statements, and goals in the HIM/coding domain.
Engage with stakeholders and leadership to define technical and business priorities, driving solutions that meet customer needs and government compliance requirements for HIM/coding systems.
Assist with the implementation, sustainment, and management of HIM/coding capabilities, ensuring alignment with client-approved deliverables.
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all HIM/coding related tasks, interfacing with program leadership, government representatives, vendors, and business partners.
Monitor, track, and report on vendor performance related to HIM/coding within the Military Health System (MHS) Genesis implementation.
Assist in the successful delivery of vendor changes related to HIM/coding, ensuring adherence to defined requirements, standards, and change procedures.
Qualifications:
BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
Deep Oracle Health (Cerner) HIM Application experience
Familiar with Oracle/Cerner (Millennium) Revenue Cycle
3M Application experience
Previous hospital, surgical, and ambulatory HIM and Coding experience including experience with CDM maintenance, suspended charges, edit failure, and denials resolution.
Expertise in workflow design
Demonstrates effective communication with senior management, clinical, administrative, revenue cycle and operational customers, and vendors
Adroit ability to navigate complex, revenue cycle and technical projects and possesses drive to meet project milestones
Ability to manage project implementation teams and individuals and monitors the deliverables of each team to ensure milestone and on-budget completion
Possesses influential leadership and teamwork promotion with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
