Senior System Administrator

Job OverviewThe following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.This position will be a key contributor to our Technical Services team, and a direct Operations support team member for our Infrastructure, Cloud, Security and Automation teams.The team is responsible for the daily operations and level 2 support of all Infrastructure platforms at Arrowstreet Capital. The Systems Administration Engineer will work closely with internal teams/users to provide monitoring, patching, backup, auditing and troubleshooting support.They are also responsible for improving the support process, the documentation of workflow as well as the SLA Targets.The Systems Administration engineer will ensure the availability, stability and integrity of IT systems that support the company.They will support our environment that consists of Dell and HP servers, VMWare ESX/VRA/VDI, Rubrik, and Microsoft Active Directory / Exchange. They will also work with supporting teams (Service Desk team, Desktop Engineering and Infrastructure Systems) to provide support for user platforms where necessary. ResponsibilitiesDay to day management of Systems team to provide comprehensive engineering and maintenance support for enterprise platformsResponsible for team projects and end users requests leveraging Jira and Jira Service Desk (Incident Management and Service Desk support requests)Developing and Enforcing IT standards, procedures, policies, and best practicesSecurity focus to confirm that best practices are followed and remediation where necessary is applied in a timely mannerAssist with Service Desk team requests (Desktop, VDI, Phone, Mobile, etc) on a regular basis to ensure timely resolution of user issuesMonitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the service desk systemRespond to reported issues in person, chat, by phone and/or via email as requiredDeliver and manage collaboration, printing, phone, conferencing and other related systemsSupport employee mobile devices through a mobile device management platform (MDM)Provide support to resolve escalated issues and as required in root cause discovery of production impacting eventsReview and enhance documentation for troubleshooting and resolution proceduresEvening or weekend work required (Changes are implemented in the evening, patching or other critical work may be required on weekends).Qualifications7+ years in a technical support function (as a developer or in IT)Technical experience with multiple industry standard technology platforms (Dell/HP/Cisco Servers, EMC Hardware, Microsoft Windows / Exchange, VMWare, VMWare Horizon)Experience managing systems and troubleshooting issuesProven technical expertise resolving complex problems across a broad range of applicationsAbility to communicate well within and across teams; foster relationships throughout the organization, and build trust amongst peers through demonstrated strong job performanceOrganized with the ability to manage initiatives independentlyStrong passion for technology, improvement mindset and a willingness learn new skillsAbility to provide guidance to team members on troubleshooting, documentation, implementation, to foster professional growth and increase work productivityArrowstreet Capital is a Boston-based systematic investment firm that manages global equity portfolios for institutional investors around the world.
