Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to lead and oversee our financial operations. This role focuses on managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closes while ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage a variety of financial functions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End Closings: Manage and oversee all aspects of financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- General Ledger and Accounting Systems: Oversee general ledger activities and maintain accounting systems for accurate reporting and compliance.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to GAAP standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate financial accounts.
- Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing: Supervise and support AP, AR, and billing functions to maintain efficient operations.
- Account Reconciliations: Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly in a timely and accurate manner.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and the parent company.
- Payroll Coordination: Collaborate with HR to oversee multi-state payroll activities, including the coordination and adjudication of payroll and sales tax returns.
- Tax Compliance: Work with tax accountants to ensure the accurate and timely completion of annual tax returns.
- Inventory Control: Ensure proper inventory management, including accurate movement, counts, and financial records.
- Analytical Support: Provide project analysis, variance reporting, and other analytical insights to support business decisions.
- Annual Audits: Coordinate and manage the completion of annual financial audits.
- Budget Preparation: Assist in preparing the company’s annual operating & capital budgets.
- Special Projects: Lead or contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.
- Active CPA license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP standards and principles.
- Proven experience managing regular financial closings.
Key Skills Required
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, as well as the ability to learn and use other software tools as required.
