Job Summary:
The Junior Accountant will assist in managing the financial transactions of the DoubleTree Hotel, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all accounting entries. This role supports the Finance Department with various accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, reconciliations, and general ledger management. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for learning and growing in the accounting field.
Key Responsibilities:
Experience: Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience 2-4 years, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment. Experience with hotel management software is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hotel policies.
- Accounts Receivable: Assist with billing, collections, and ensuring timely payments from clients.
- General Ledger: Help with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate recording of employee hours, deductions, and benefits.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Audit Preparation: Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
- Expense Tracking: Track departmental expenditures and assist with budget preparation.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, assisting with tax filings as needed.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Finance Department, including filing, record-keeping, and responding to inquiries.
- Experience in the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of property management systems (PMS) and hotel accounting software.
- Basic understanding of tax and regulatory requirements within the hotel industry.
