Description: This position works with the Budget Manager to manage the day-to-day business functions associated with the Agricultural Research program, which has an operating budget of approximately $18M. Primary duties include: reviewing and approving expenditure requests for payroll, travel, equipment, supplies, and services; posting financial transactions to an extensive Excel ledger for over 30 research projects; and reconciling expenditures to the University’s accounting system. Our four academic departments are the Department of Agribusiness, Applied Economics and Agriscience Education; the Department of Animal Sciences; the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences; and the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Design. Within these departments, students will find a myriad of opportunities for classroom learning, research and field work.Through our Agricultural Research Program and our Cooperative Extension Program, we are able to research issues of importance to North Carolina and also provide research-based outreach training to citizens across the state and around the world. Internal job number: 007519 Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related business area; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Preferred: At least three years experience related to the fiscal management of federal and state funds, intermediate knowledge of Excel, and experience with various business systems, such as Banner, e-Procurement, Chrome River, and electronic personnel action forms.
