Job Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting campus needs in the areas of finance, budget and decision-making support. This position will utilize fundamental skills in budget creation, analysis, forecasting and report development and serve all units of the campus. The budget analyst will handle complex data analysis and situations where guidelines may be broadly defined or technical, requiring careful analysis and interpretation of federal, state, and university rules, regulations and policies. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of: Spreadsheet applications and formulas Data management Skill & Ability to: Research, compile and analyze data, providing high level of accuracy with attention to detail Understand and develop budgets, expenditures, and financial forecasts Prioritize, organize and execute a variety of tasks simultaneously and effectively Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships, interacting in a supportive manner with faculty, staff, and outside agencies Communicate information clearly, concisely and accurately to others, exercising tact, patience, discretion, and professional demeanor to provide outstanding customer service Use a computer and applicable software such as Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and Outlook Provide training development and deployment Comments: South Dakota State University is a tobacco free environment.
