Seneca is looking for a dedicated Underwriting Assistant, responsible for using and booking of policies and endorsements within all department standards, performing all pre-quote work required by underwriting as well as various other tasks. Seneca is comprised of dedicated and experienced professionals with an exceptional understanding of the Market. We work closely with our Brokers to achieve a responsive service to them and the clients. The Underwriting Assistant supports various underwriting processes, including communication with our agents along with internal departments, to address to needs of current and prospective clients. Be able to work side by side with the Underwriters to maintain a common goal of growth and profitability while maintaining relationships with the brokers and their service needs. This position can be based in Cherry Hill, NJ, Morristown or Uniondale, NY. What you will do for C&F: Be able to work independently as well as a part of a team Detailed Oriented Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, ImageRight, Duck Creek and WINS is a plus Issue Policies within department standards Book Policies in WINS within department standards Complete Fac Cession Slips (Reinsurance) Calculate RP/AP transactions based on account rate/underwriting instructions (APAdditional Premium/RPReturn Premium) Determine pro-rate/short rate factors (method of calculating premiums on a short-term basis rather than Annual) Calculate State Taxes and fees when deemed necessary (admitted business) Book/Issue endorsements in WINS/Duck Creek Perform all pre-quote work (when needed) requested by the UW i.e. Risk Meter, ISO, Property Shark, Web Research, Mapping, etc. Format RMS Import Template for modeling and send RMS request to appropriate parties (RMS Risk Modeling - helps determine pricing and exposure when there is a catastrophe insurance involved - Hurricane, Flood, Earthquake, Terrorism) Order Inspections and send out recommendation letters to producers and follow up for outstanding requirements. Be able to maintain/update Excel Sheets in Shared Drive with outstanding work Follow up with brokers for outstanding requirements. Work with Accounting/AP when Finance Company Cancellations/Reinstatements occur Be able to amend and create Excel sheets for importing into systems Managing Tasks that are assigned in a date/time order Clearance of New Accounts in the Submission Box Issue NONR/Cancellations and Reinstatements in accordance with underwriting and statutory laws Order Loss Runs when requested What you will bring to C&F: High School Diploma or GED required, College degree preferred. 3 Years of Insurance Company Operations experience preferred. Strong Communications and Organizational skills, being able to multi-task. Proficient in various Microsoft software applications, such as Excel and Word, WINS, IR. Will be able to abide by departmental policies and procedures including guidelines placed by the Property Management Team. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $44,000.00 to a maximum of $69,100.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee's contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range.
