Summary: Senior Data Center Smart Hands Technician will provide onsite support in the customer’s two Data Centers. They will perform hands on tasks such as server/network/rack installation, troubleshooting, cabling, decommissioning equipment, inventory and asset management, physical space planning in the data center, and maintain network/rack diagrams. The technician will split time between two data centers.
Required: • 5+ years with a BS/BA degree or 9+ years of hands-on experience in a datacenter environment • Understand power redundancy, power usage, different styles of power cords and amps needed per cabinet in a data center environment • Installation of new data center racks and understanding of rack PDU’s, cabling and power requirements • Rack and stack physical servers/network devices, fiber and copper patching and cable management • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and network connectivity issues
Preferred: • Data Center asset and inventory management • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, customer service and reliable team member • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing equipment, cabling and documentation • Use of ServiceNow as a ticketing and asset management system
