The Division of Healthy Start Systems is in the Child, Adolescent, and Family Health Bureau (CAFH) at the Boston Public Health Commission. The mission of the Division is to promote infant, maternal, and family health with a focus on reducing health inequities. The Division includes the following programs: Boston Healthy Start Initiative, Healthy Baby/Healthy Child, Healthy Start in Housing, Welcome Family, and Shirley's Food Pantry. These programs provide support to clients through care coordination, connection to resources, health education, and advocacy.

The Program Coordinator advances the Division's efforts by providing outreach and education about Division services to clients, providers, and other stakeholders. The Program Coordinator develops plans for outreach and engagement, creates educational materials, represents the Division at community events, and conducts informational meetings with health care providers, families, and other stakeholders. * Provides education about Healthy Start Systems programs and services to families, providers, and other stakeholders. * Responds to inquiries to provide information concerning program. * Represents BPHC and program at meetings, health fairs, and conferences. * Seeks out and develops good working relationships with internal colleagues and external partners including health care providers. * Collaborates with various private, state, local and federal agencies, health care organizations, and community-based organizations to further maternal and child health equity. * As a member of a multidisciplinary team, provides health education to clients, in homes, schools and community-based settings including in-home health education. * Provides technical assistance and advice to clients, staff, and others. * Ensures accurate and current documentation is kept on all outreach and client interactions. * May supervise employees. * Work to help BPHC become an antiracist organization by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the BPHC Anti-Racism Policy. * Performs other duties as required.

* BA/BS required OR 3 years of equivalent experience in working with maternal and child health services * Experience collaborating with clients and/or families * Exceptional organizational skills with the ability of developing timelines and meeting deadlines. * Demonstrated cultural competence with the diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic groups. * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively. * Passionate commitment to health equity and racial/social justice issues. * Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants of health, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Prior experience designing public-facing health education and outreach materials strongly preferred. * Prior supervisory experience preferred; ability to establish rapport with others and to maintain harmonious working relationships with others required. * Demonstrated knowledge & experience with MSOffice, MSWord/Excel, Windows and/or other software. * Demonstrated ability to establish effective communications and working relationships with community agencies and providers. Ability to plan, develop, coordinate and evaluate health programs or services for the community. * Exceptional organizational skills with the ability of developing time lines and meeting deadlines. * Demonstrated cultural competence with the diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic groups. Advanced experience with or knowledge of local community organizations/agencies/health care providers preferred. * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively. * Bilingual and/or bicultural applicants strongly encouraged to apply. * Must have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation for travel to homes and events throughout the City of Boston.
