Position Overview: As the Vice President of Software Product Engineering, you will drive the development, delivery, and success of our enterprise software products. You will lead and scale our product engineering teams, implementing strategies that align with our business objectives and product vision. This role requires a focus on engineering excellence, modular design, and the delivery of extensible, scalable solutions. Must-Have Requirements: 10 years in Director or above-level roles. 6 years of experience in Engineering Leadership, managing Directors or higher-level leaders. Proven track record in Enterprise SaaS organizations, particularly those transitioning from a bespoke model to a "Core and Extend" strategy. 5 years in Agile or Hybrid (Agile/Waterfall) environments. Experience with Enterprise SaaS companies such as SAP, Salesforce, or Oracle. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build consensus and foster collaboration. High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and a proactive problem-solving approach. Clear rationale for career moves, especially for roles with tenure under three years. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Engineering Leadership: Define and execute the engineering roadmap, supporting a scalable "Core and Extend" product model. Collaborate with Product Management to align priorities and maximize customer value while preserving core product integrity. Modular Architecture & Quality Assurance: Drive a modular, extensible architecture that ensures stability and supports rapid deployment of custom features. Establish and enforce engineering standards and processes to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. Development Lifecycle Management: Integrate the "Core and Extend" strategy into all stages of the development lifecycle. Oversee technology stack and tools that balance core performance with custom feature delivery. Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Cultivate a culture of adaptability and best practices to ensure scalability and flexibility. Pilot innovative solutions to address emerging market trends and customer needs. Leadership & Team Development: Mentor and coach engineering leaders, fostering professional growth and a high-performance culture. Manage staffing, performance, and resource allocation to meet evolving organizational goals. Technology Roadmap Ownership: Develop a forward-looking technology roadmap, identifying opportunities for impactful technologies. Operational Excellence: Oversee hiring, performance management, and team resourcing to align with organizational objectives. Key Skills & Abilities: Expertise in modular architecture, API, microservices, and cloud-native technologies. Strong background in engineering management, product development, and commercialization. Effective in ambiguity, with the ability to align cross-functional teams. Skilled relationship-builder with strong business acumen. Proficient in global team leadership and motivating high-performance teams. Qualifications: Bachelor's in IT, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (MBA preferred). 10 years in senior management roles, with 6 years in engineering leadership. Experience in agile environments and engineering best practices. Compensation and Benefits: Salary Range: $250,000–$280,000 annually. Bonus: Up to 30% discretionary bonus. Retirement Contribution: 9% of base salary after 12 months. 401k Match: 4% dollar-for-dollar. Benefits: Full medical, dental, and vision coverage. Relocation Package: Up to $10,000. Signing Bonus: Available for the right candidate.
