Job Title: Audience Engagement Manager Location: Hybrid requires Maine residency and the ability to report to the office in Bangor 2 or 3 days a week. Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Engagement Manager to join our team. This role is right for someone with strong audience engagement and customer care skills who is passionate about the reader and donor experience and growing revenue through both philanthropy and subscriptions. Key Responsibilities: Donor Care: Contribute to the development of and lead the execution of compelling fundraising campaigns for BDN audiences, leveraging traditional and digital marketing techniques. Produce live and virtual events for donors and subscribers. Create engaging content that resonates with readers and drives donations/subscriptions. Analyze and interpret fundraising data to optimize campaign performance and identify growth opportunities. Maintain data quality of our donor database Build and maintain relationships with donors and sponsors to support revenue goals. Subscriber Care: Build and nurture strong relationships to ensure customer loyalty and satisfaction. Proactively engage readers to gather feedback and address their preferences. Collaborate with customer service to identify patterns in queries, complaints, and requests, providing recommendations and implementing actions to enhance the customer experience Identify opportunities to retain subscribers and reduce churn. Work closely with other members of the audience team to ensure seamless reader experiences. Provide insights into subscriber behavior to improve service offerings. Own the customer experience on the BDN website to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. 5 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on fundraising and/or user experience. Strong understanding of media and digital marketing principles. Proficiency in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and content management systems (CMS). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Creative problem-solver with a data-driven mindset and attention to detail. Experience with donor management or CRM platforms is a plus.
