Electrical Switchgear Design Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION Insight Global is looking for an Electrical Switchgear Design Engineer to sit onsite for an end client in St. Petersburg, FL. This person will help design schematics for electrical panels and select suitable components for systems such as battery energy storage systems, power conversion systems, or power distribution systems. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of developing such systems and launching them into production. He/she will be developing product requirements, select electrical components, preform design analysis, debug prototypes, verify test plans, and write manufacturing test specifications. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering 8 years of electrical hardware design experience: panel schematics, power systems, component selection, power conversions, etc. New product development (NPD) experience and understanding of design cycles from concept to production Electrical Panel Design Experience: AutoCAD Electrical, Creo Schematics, Eplan, etc. Strong Knowledge of NEW (NFPA 70), UL508A, or IEC Equivalents Experience Debugging and testing power systems using lab equipment Design analysis experience: DFMEA, derating analysis, arc-fault calculations, heat loss calculations, etc. Commissioning of entire systems NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Lead experience
