TITLE: AUTOMATION ENGINEER (IIoT Sensors) FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR, MANUFACTURING ANALYTICS SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing Analytics, the Intern will work on various development projects within the application development group using Python, Java, C#, and C++ programming languages. The Intern must possess a working knowledge of various communication protocols, as well as experience with data handling and extraction. This position is located in Milpitas, CA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Uses programming language such as Python, Java, C#, and C++ to design and develop software applications Uses knowledge of hardware design and software communication protocols to integrate electronic transducers to measure physical quantities, such as temperature, current, pressure, or voltage and extract data to external data storage Understands the fundamentals of data handling and extraction of data files and processes Partners with other team members or groups to share knowledge and learnings Prepares end of internship report and presentation Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required Performs other duties of a similar nature or level MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Actively Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering and/or equivalent relevant experience Experience with the following programming in Python, Java, C#, or C++ Experience with electric systems, circuit design, and software development Knowledge of basic database and data handling processes Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of software languages such as Python, Java, C#, or C++ Knowledge of the basic principles of electrical circuit design, software programming and database/data handling Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentations Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees and management Able to comply with all safety policies and procedures Demonstrated prioritization and organizational skills Demonstrated time management skills Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble shooting skills Flexible and able to prioritize The base salary for this summer internship position is between $66,632.00-$83,000.00 benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience. The base pay range shown is subject to change and may be modified periodically. Headway internships begin in early June and end in mid-September contingent on student school schedule. WORKING CONDITIONS: The Automation Engineer Intern works primarily in an office environment from Monday to Friday. The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs; may travel from building-to-building as needed. Occasionally, works in a class 100 ESD sensitive wafer fab manufacturing facility; adheres to required safety and dress standards. Stands and walks; performs various fine grasping movements, bends, and twists; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment. May occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 10 pounds. Other duties of a similar nature or level are duties that may be required, but may not be specifically listed in the job description or posting.
