We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer with expertise in programming CNC lathes and mills using Mastercam . This role is crucial to our build-to-print machining operations, requiring a strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and efficient programming to achieve high-quality, precise parts while providing accurate time estimates for production. Key Responsibilities: Program Development: Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for lathes and mills using Mastercam , based on technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements. Tooling Selection: Determine appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to maximize machining efficiency and product quality. Production Time Estimation: Calculate and provide estimated machining times for parts to assist in quoting and production scheduling. Machine Setup: Collaborate with machinists to set up machines, ensuring programs run smoothly and producing first articles for validation. Process Optimization: Analyze machining processes to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and increase overall production efficiency. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve programming or machining issues, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent quality. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of programs, tool lists, and setup sheets for repeatability and consistency in future jobs. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and company policies, ensuring all work meets industry standards and customer requirements. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in CNC machining, manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in CNC programming for both lathes and mills. Proficiency in Mastercam for CAD/CAM programming. Hands-on experience with G-code/M-code programming and editing. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of machining operations, tooling, and materials. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and technical documents. Familiarity with a range of CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Siemens). Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with machinists and engineers. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Preferred Skills: Experience with multi-axis CNC machines or Swiss-style lathes. Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards.
