Job Description
Job Summary
The Digital Designer is a key member of the Synovus Creative Studio delivering day-to-day design needs as well as marketing initiatives to support strategic plans for lines of business across the enterprise. The Digital Designer collaborates with copywriters and other Marketing team members to develop on-brand creative for a wide range of channels, with key areas of focus being social media, email, website content, digital advertising, sponsored events, and more. The Digital Designer also contributes to ongoing refinement of the Synovus visual identity by establishing standards and best practices to help the Creative Studio team produce great work and establish a creative culture within the group.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Collaboratively and/or individually develops creative concepts through a process of gathering information, establishing objectives, concepting, presenting, refining, and producing final assets. Collaborates with the digital marketing team to design email campaigns and website landing pages with a strong focus on best practices for UI/UX. Adapts existing creative work for various media and platforms and prepares advertising artwork to the various specifications required for print and digital publication. Actively contributes to day-to-day production of multiple categories of content while adhering to high professional standards and attention to detail while working with a sense of urgency to ensure project timelines are maintained. Assists in creating and building visual assets and components for online platforms. Helps maintain a library of visual elements and digital assets in the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to ensure consistency across all branded applications. Ensures projects stay on track by following established workflow and project management tools, proactively communicating with project management team, and collaborating on traffic needs with creative resource manager. Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Requirements
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree Graphic design, digital design, or closely-related area of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum Experience:
Three years Professional graphic design experience, preferably in a creative agency or in-house studio environment Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite -- primarily Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, XD Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources to inform design. Ability to think about design strategically and understand how different elements work together to achieve desired results Ability to understand and work within a brand identity framework Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to represent the studio team in presentations, effectively communicating creative rationale Front-end UI design experience for desktop, web, and mobile Passion for great design with a strong understanding of fundamental design principles such as typography, composition, information hierarchy, alignment, balance, iconography, etc. Understands that visual design is a powerful tool to help communicate ideas and connect emotionally with an audience and will thrive collaborating in a team environment, whether in-person or working remotely Willingness to approach all projects, large or small, as challenges to create great work Working knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements for digital design Working knowledge of CSS and HTML Additional Information
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Studio highly preferred Experience in financial industry Video editing, animation, and/or 3D experience a plus
