The Director of Quality & Risk is responsible for ensuring compliance with healthcare quality standards, mitigating organizational risks, and implementing quality improvement initiatives. This leadership role is critical to maintaining patient safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to healthcare quality standards such as those set by The Joint Commission (TJC) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Prepare the organization for audits, inspections, and accreditations by regulatory bodies.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks within the organization, with a strong focus on patient safety and operational vulnerabilities.
Quality Improvement: Develop, implement, and oversee quality improvement programs in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Monitor performance metrics and lead initiatives to enhance care quality.
Policy and Procedure Development: Ensure the organization adheres to federal, state, and local regulations.
Create and update policies and procedures related to quality and risk management.
Leadership and Collaboration: Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to foster a culture of safety and quality.
Provide training and guidance on risk mitigation and quality improvement strategies.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required).
Licenses and Certifications: Active Kentucky (KY) or multi-state nursing license (Required).
Certification in Risk Management (e.g., CPHRM or equivalent) (Required).
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality and risk management within an acute care hospital setting (Preferred).

8-hour shift
Day shift
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
