We are offering a contract for an Entry Level Accountant position in Glendora, California. Operating within the financial services industry, the successful applicant will join our client servicing team, dealing with the administration of investment companies.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct compliance checks of mutual fund holdings in accordance with 1940 Act requirements, Prospectus and statement of additional information disclosure, and IRC requirements.
• Play an instrumental role in the preparation of monthly liquidity rule reports and fair valuation action records.
• Contribute to the compilation of information required for registration statements and review these documents.
• Assist in the calculation and preparation of income estimates and memos related to distributions.
• Review and verify statistical data provided to data collecting companies and fund fact sheets.
• Develop comprehensive reports for board books.
• Facilitate the filing of proxy voting on Form N-PX with the SEC.
• Perform startup tasks for new funds including obtaining cusip, ticker, and IRS tax identification number, and registering mutual funds with industry tracking organizations such as Reuters, ICI, Morningstar.
• Undertake special projects as assigned.• Entry-level Accountant position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat is highly desirable
• Knowledge of Mutual Funds is essential
• Familiarity with Registration Statements is required
• Demonstrable experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary
• Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is a prerequisite.
