Job Summary:

As a Quality Control (QC) Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and compliance. This individual will monitor and inspect all aspects of fabrication compliance, as well as conduct in-process and final inspections of welds, bolting, and coatings. Reporting directly to the Lead Inspector, they will collaborate closely with shop supervisors and production teams to ensure effective and thorough quality inspections that support seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
The QC Inspector will have the authority to "stop work" on any project where the quality of work is questionable.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough visual inspections of welds and fabricated materials.
- Verify the use of proper welding procedures and ensure welders and tack welders meet qualification standards.
- Inspect bolted connections and coatings for compliance with project specifications.
- Confirm the use of correct materials, including type, grade, and heat number, when required by contract.
- Record non-conforming work, monitor repairs, and maintain detailed inspection records by piece mark.
- Collaborate closely with shop supervisors and production teams to ensure seamless workflows and quality outcomes.

Qualifications and Training:
We are looking for QC Inspector candidates who embody the values and qualities that drive SteelFab's success. Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
- Experience: At least 1 year of structural steel experience.
- Technical Skills: The ability to read and interpret structural detail drawings.
- Training: Formal or on-the-job training in bolting, welding inspection, and fabrication standards.
- Certifications: Current or in-progress ASNT Level II training in non-destructive testing and AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credentials.
- Continuous Education: Current or in-progress AWS Certified Welding Inspector training
