Manager, Investment Accounting

Oliver James is currently representing a client in the property and casualty insurance sector, a company backed by an ambitious asset management firm. The role will focus on a wide variety of investment accounting, reporting, and operations. The ideal candidate with have a broad background in insurance investment accounting, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Manager, Investment AccountingThe role will oversee all investment accounting and reporting related activity, including leading the monthly and quarterly close in accordance with GAAP/STAT. This position will also collaborate closely with the the investment management team to carry out various projects and objectives.Role & Responsibilities:Prepare and analyze investment reports in accordance with GAAP and STAT (schedule D, E, BA)Reconcile investment accounts and resolve discrepanciesResearch and analyze new accounting policies (i.e. new STAT guidelines related to bonds)Monitor investment performance and provide insights to managementCollaborate with investment managers on operational functions including tracking and reporting investment transactionsEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements related to investmentsKey Skills:Strong understanding of GAAP/STAT Investment ReportingInsurance experience requiredAbility to analyze financial data and identify trendsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyProficiency with investment accounting software - Clearwater a plusGood communication and interpersonal skillsCPA, CFA, or MBA preferredFor more information please apply directly or contact Adam Salvadori at Oliver James.
