Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector, Tactical Space Systems Division, seeks a qualified Senior Staff Systems Engineer to support the HALO program within the Space Systems Division at NGSP located in Dulles, VA or Gilbert, AZ. This Systems Engineering role will serve as the deputy IPT lead and Technical Lead for an Integrated Product Team responsible for the physical layout of the HALO spacecraft. In this role, the individual is responsible for technical execution which includes oversight of the following functions: systems analysis and trades, coordinating engineering activities, engineering baseline management, subcontractor technical oversight, preparing/presenting material at major reviews and PMRs.The responsibilities include both individual-contributor and leadership roles, within a multi-disciplined engineering team. Successful candidate will also be called upon to support other activities, including architecture studies, mission support, and traditional Systems Engineering functions. In this leadership level role, the Systems Engineer is expected to be self-directed using previous experience to lead design, analysis and execution efforts. Candidates must be able to recognize and mitigate space segment technical issues and risks while operating within budget and on schedule.Responsibilities:Lead/Provide major support to the Mechanical Layout Integrated Product TeamLead and optimize space vehicle design, processing and mission success.Proactive. General knowledge of other related disciplinesMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearancePreferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree in EngineeringExperience in system architecture & CONOPs developmentExperience with Class A human-rated spaceflight programsSalary Range: $188,200.00 - $282,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
