Job Posting Title: Facility Specialist, Janitor, MHE

POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly Building / Facility, performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks and may assist in duties involving Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC skills, operation of various power tools, and light-to-medium related equipment. Work performed with some independence within established policies, procedures, and techniques, is subject to general or direct supervision as the work situation warrants.

As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain offices, cubical, conference rooms, restrooms, and or any other office space clean and in orderly fashion.
  2. Prepare conference rooms with coffee, drinks, and or food (when required).
  3. Maintain Storage areas (neat and clean).
  4. Maintains cleanliness of exterior grounds (bay areas, lobby entrances, etc.).
  5. Floors must be maintained daily to ensure cleanliness, free of dirt and debris, obstacles, and trip/slip hazards. Post hazard information signs where needed.
  6. Trash Receptacles are expected to be emptied, all warehouse and office trash receptacles daily - or as necessary.
  7. Window should be cleaned weekly or as necessary.
  8. Replace or refill all water dispensers (jugs) in warehouse and office areas daily or as needed.
  9. Check office and warehouse lighting weekly and report outages to your supervisor.
  10. Operate sweeper/lift in accordance with OSHA requirements. Proper preventive maintenance records must be kept and required PPE must be in place at all times.
  11. Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Conduct daily "pre-operating" inspections and perform minor maintenance on the equipment intended for use. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Report any faulty or damaged items to your supervisor.

OTHER DUTIES

  1. Performs other duties as assigned.
  2. Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  1. Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  2. Able to operate MHE or become certified within 30 days of hire.
  3. Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  1. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
  2. Language Skills: English (reading, writing, verbal).
  3. Mathematical Skills: Basic math.
  4. Other: Clear speaking in order to communicate effectively with vendors/customers, must be able to read and comprehend written procedures and instructions, able to maintain employee confidentiality, physical ability to lift (50lbs), bend and reach, methods in handling materials and equipment used in performing housekeeping duties, safe practices when operating power equipment or tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 6 months experience in same role.
  2. Current or prior MHE Certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Occasionally: Handling/Fingering, Sitting.
  2. Frequently: Bending.
  3. Constantly: Walking and Standing.
  4. Ability to Lift/Carry and Push/Pull: 21-50 pounds. Reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

The pay for this role commences at $20.00p/hr. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
